DJ BooshWheelz features on “House Of Blen- Vol. 1″

Yes my good House people…

I have had the honor of being featured on El Blen’s very unique and, dare I say, un-safe album called House Of Blen Vol. 1.

It is a culmination of El Blen’s very original Deep, Classic, and “Conditionally Cosmic” House music. House of Blen is formatted in a creative kind of story line that makes for a very interesting listen. It’s a lot more than just a compilation of tracks it’s an experience. Coming from a guy that literally has the head of a wolf I guess that wouldn’t be to hard to believe. He parades around the New York City  House music scene with a wolf mask on.

But don’t tell him that, he’ll ask you “What mask?” I have been following El Blen for quite some time and I’m glad to see that he is putting his music out for a larger audience to consume.

El Blen called me up and asked me to write a piece for a track called “Looking For A Parking Spot” so I graced him with two separate pieces, both of which actually made the album.  The song fits perfectly into the storyline.

You can find the wolf at HouseOfBlen.com

Here is a video of “My New Zoot Suit” by El Blen that was featured on my mix “House-tastic Vol. 2″… This is one of the reasons I think he is so original and worth taking a look into.

C.9INE – CHASING (FEAT. KHOLI) PART 1

DESCRIPTION
Arguably one of the strongest vocal house songs to come out of the last ten years of fine underground music, ‘Chasing’ delivers with a no-nonsense attack. The original, produced by South African super duo ‘C.9ine’ is an incredible barrage of driving, sexy afro house rhythms coupled seamlessly with well thought out bass bumps & evocative key lines, and this is just the music! Once we get going on the vocals this song is unstoppable. Kholi, hailing from Soweto just south of Johannesburg City has jumped into center stage with what we can only describe as a flawless vocal delivery, sexy & forceful Kholi gets her point across with no holds barred.

On this, the first half of a two-part release, remixer’s Atjazz and the awesome Alain Ho (DJ Yellow) step out in different directions. Both hit the floor hard. Atjazz slides in with sensual & lush chords layered with his trademark subby bass pops, before he lets go into a technical DJs dream-drop, where the mid section becomes open to all sorts of turntable trickery, before we’re lifted off the ground once more as if it were Christmas and the final snare fill drops the song back on track. Alain Ho and his precise remix delivery is like the perfect glass of fine wine, slowly building and then driving the higher tones out towards the second half with wonderful clarity, this kind of sound quality can only be reached by someone with his amount of experience in the studio.

Chasing is set to be one of the biggest deep summer anthems of 2011. If you don’t get it, you’re just not cool!

“This is an amazing piece of work, I can’t get it out of my head & I need to remix it now, please get me the parts…” – Atjazz

THE MARTINEZ BROTHERS – ISSSHHH EP – OUT NOW

Objektivity return with a brand new EP from The Martinez Brothers. Their follow up to last years “Don’t Know Yet” EP is nothing less than proper New York house bizzness.
“The Causeway” offers us a perfect A-Side. With its deep bass line, energetic percussion and soulful vocal atmospheres.
Having been suitably warmed, the brothers B-Side and title track, “Issshhh”, delivers a refreshing take on an array of classic elements. Its stuttering keys echo throughout over a strong, groove driven kick, whilst synths build to a momentous break. Hold tight!
